Macquarie Group Global Headquarters – Launch
The concept was to create a Christo-inspired installation throughout the new Macquarie Headquarters at 50 Martin Place in Sydney, using two and a half kilometres of fabric. Literally gift wrapping the new building, the material wound around columns, specially commissioned sculptural installations, and intertwined amongst choreographed dancers as the silken fabric wound its way up through the spacious atrium to the rooftop, eleven floors up. Video projection and lighting transformed the fabric into an evolving tapestry of historical and contemporary images, taking the guests on a journey through the history of Macquarie Bank's new home. As the building was officially opened by the Governor General of NSW the evening was topped off by an intimate performance by Katie Noonan.
